Hey all,
As i haven't been around for so long I thought a re-introduction was a better idea then just jumping back in.
I can't say i'm new to this place as I have been a member for a long, long time. I met HongFire in a Sydney, Australia based IRC channel back in 2002-2003 and had a common interest in Anime. HongFire actually invited me back in the early days when HongFire.com was being created as wanted some opinions on the site and the direction he was taking it. I can say back then I was not expecting this site to turn into what it is today and I really didn't have to say anything as he started with a great base.
I was once a Moderator and then a Super Moderator for these forums. It was a great time to be around and then life got in the way and one day I just wasn't around. I will admit here it was silly of me back then I should have given up my Mod status rather then slowly disappear but being young you think you can do it all. I will say I have lots of good memories of this place even including some of the arguments had with other staff over the way things should be done (Mind you ill admit it now but when i lost they were usually right and I still have great respect for the people who run this place). Not to mention being around when Paizu left as that was a crazy time. Hopefully I see some old friends around this place.
Anyway as for the reason I am finally back. One of my friends said "Hey you work in IT, play games, do you like anime? If so you should go and watch Sword Art Online as its about..." As I liked .hack//sign i thought I would give it a go that night, the next thing i know i have watched 10 episodes its 4am and I have to see the rest of the series. Then of course I get let down by the next half of the series and finish it off the next day. But by reading online I heard that the light novels are good so I had to get them (Mind you I haven't been able to read them yet, because I know if i start reading i won't make it to work on time the next day). So as i am back into Anime I thought i should come back to the biggest community i have every been a part of. So now i have to go and find a thread on the series and see what other people thought and hopefully contribute my own thoughts on the matter.
My favorite anime has always been Macross and I have managed to see everything but the last two movies and i keep on wanting to catch up on it. I have purchased one model in my life and its Roys VF-1J 5" mini which is actually sitting on the monitor in front of me. Other favorites include Ranma, Evangelion and Dragonball which may be some of the most common responses from years ago. (I will plug http://www.kanzenshuu.com/ and their podcast here because even though i haven't been watching anime I have been listing to them for the last three years and they have kept my love for Dragonball alive) I have seen Bleach and am also still watching One Piece. I could go on but you all know what this is like.
I still play games when I get the chance and recently got Trials evolution for the PC. I will have to see if anyone here is playing the game.
If anyone has any questions or comments I will be happy to read and respond. Sorry about my grammar I have always been terrible at posting online.
These days I work long and way too hard but as anyone in IT knows your work doesn't finish when you go home and with this final note I better get back to work. As it is 7:30pm here and I will be stuck at work for another 30 minutes but hey I thought this post was more important.
