Hey guys of Hong Fire. I've been wanting to discuss this topic for awhile (well months), but never got around to it since I was afraid that no one would bother commenting due to lack of interest. But after the "Infamous" "Are you into cute/passionate hentai anime or twised ones?" I wanted to created this thread with the premise of being humble, respectful, and professional towards others tastes in other H-anime genres while sticking to the things I like compared to others. I don't know if a thread like this has been made before, but if it has let me know and I will try to change it to the best of my ability. None the less...let's get started.

Ahem:

As you guys know, I'm a huge fan and supporter of the vanilla genre. I love it when sex, romance, and drama can create a good scenarios of hot and memorable sex scenes. Also my love for Vanilla also stems from the fact that I'm a hopeless romantic in real life. Weird I know but what can you do? Anyways, after getting to know the thread and the people who comment on them, I can understand why some don't bother with Vanilla or just look at it as something that's available for accessibility. It's understandable since Vanilla as a genre in anime, manga, Light Novels, and in H-anime are pretty straightforward without needing to be as complex compared to most. As a story person, I really like it when a story of an H-anime I can take in and enjoy. I mean, sex scenes are cool, but as a writer in training, I sort of put story before everything else.

Now on to H-anime aspect. Allow me to use Kimihagu as an example. I've seen and watched it so many times and enjoyed it. I know it's your stereotypical anime love, comedy, and romance with a high school setting. But to me, the H-anime showed that you can have a simple straightforward love story with really good sex scenes and good looking girl to make the experience worthwhile. The same can go for other titles such as: Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro, Renyuu Tales, Chu Shite Agechau Oshikake Onee-san no Seikou Chiryou, Nuki Doki, and Mou Hasamazu ni wa Irarenai etc.

There are times, however, that there's much Vanilla that it sort of kills the H aspect of the genre. Let's all take Tropical Kiss. For three episodes, we got the heroine, the respective story route, and the relationship building. But it took like 20 mins for the actual H scenes to comes and when it did it was dismal to the point why couldn't this be a simple anime adaptation minus the sex. The same could also be the same for episode 2 Kotowari ~Kimi no Kokoro no Koboreta Kakera~. The first episode had good sex scene length and the heroines were sexy, cute, and had charm to them (Mute girl was the best that episode!:)). But episode 2 was so Vanilla and story driven that there wasn't satisfactory sex scenes to make the H experience worthwhile. There were sex scenes but didn't delivery in both timing and length. Truth be told, I was disappointed with the lack of sex scenes in episode 2, I personally enjoyed it from a Vanilla and anime fan perspective, because the heroine was related to the MC's old love and woman he admired and the process of him learning to face his inner demons to move on. Plus the girl wore shimapan. As you guys know I love the stripe panties and they come before everything else. Whenever there's shimapan wore by hot anime chicks with various butt sizes and of different colors, I will be there!:hero:

As much as I love Vanilla. I, too, do take a break from my routine and watch dark and really orthodox stuff that many of you are accustomed to, and deeply enjoy. I enjoy watching series like the Rin-Sem, Otome Dori, Kowaku Toki, and Pandra etc. The sex scenes are great and I feel like the story compared to Vanilla have more of an appeal that makes you want to get involved with it more since it's out of the box and really twisted to the point of being enjoyable.

Like I said before; I'm a story based person because of my background of enjoying literature and works regardless of the medium. If I enjoy something I can also take in and comment on its faults, as well. I'm sure that some, if not, all of you enjoy Vanilla, but i suppose it's based on how it's being done and peoples' preferences. So what do you guys like about Vanilla? What do you hate or disagree with it? And if you could, how would you change it to make Vanilla more appealing?

That's why I created this thread. I hope we can have a professional and interesting debate about this topic.
