Should I change my college major...?

For those of you who graduated with a degree in CS (or pursuing one), you know that programming isn't exactly one of the easiest majors out there; furthermore, since I have no way of going back to college until August (not to mention I'll probably forget most of it by the time I return...also, I suck HORRIBLY at math...tutor didn't work for me), I was thinking of changing my major to English. English has always been a strong point of mine; in fact, I have high hopes of writing my own book, movie, or even video game (the story only) someday (or at the very least, publish what I've already written thus far). But here's the deal; I'm fully aware that having an English degree doesn't open up a lot of career opportunities, not to mention the ones that are available are on the borderline of poverty. One of my top five fears in the world is not being able to support myself. I'll be 24 this year if God permits, with no stable job; much less a place of my own. I'm getting older now and would really like to shape up my life, before I get too old to have a shot in life. So for those of you who were in my position, should I make that career change or stick to what I have? I'm not that far ahead in college that changing my major will have a huge impact on my credits, yet I don't want to board a sinking ship either. Also, if I DO make that career change, what other jobs can I do that doesn't involve teaching (I'll teach, but ONLY as a last resort)? I was thinking paralegal, but idk.
