Pre-Moe Era VS. Moe Era

I was recently trolling around the web and found these interesting pics that pits the animation styles of both Pre-Moe and Moe Era anime.
I immediately scanned Hongfire for a discussion about the subject and I didn't find anything (or was just too lazy to look carefully). So I thought it would be an interesting Topic of discussion among Hongfirians which is Superior?:dunno:
Frankly, I'm torn with so many questions. Did the progress of Technology hampered or paved the way to the styles of today? or did Moe Culture just made us all girly? or are Japanese Animators of today not in par with days of old? or is it a budget issue? or worse that public have little attention to detail that we let them get away with it?
