RPG maker question

Hello, I see a lot of hentai content using the RPG Maker system, which is the best version to buy and will I be locking myself out of content or games if I get lets say the most recent one like RPG Maker VX Ace.

Thank you to anyone who can answer and even more so explain how this system works in relation to new versions coming out.
