First time I feel stupid for my own nationality

Here is the thing. I'm from Vietnam, and I know there is a significant amount of Vietnamese living in the US. Until now I don't give my nationality a big deal, but recently I read a comment from a guy living in California saying that "Why are the Vietnamese so noisy? They protest all day, don't they have anything better to do?"

And then I think about it, yes, I have to agree with that guy. Some old people are like that. They aren't willing to let go of the past. Here is the problem with Vietnamese. Since the communist took over, a good amount of people flee the country. Now, they get old, have nothing to do. They idolize the US and look at VN as hell (in their eyes, anything associate with communist is hell). What will you do when you have so much free time, a little brain and some days left in your life? Lining up on the road to protest the communist government back home, appearing on TV, sitting on sofas and talking about how to change the country, like some real politicians. Some people even went as far as buying a banner on a highway. Do they seriously think US people give a damn about their piss tiny problem? I feel so stupid just looking at what they did every day. No wonder why US people look at Vietnamese as noisy and obnoxious. So if you ever go to Cali and see that, it's just a small fraction of VN who have too much time, not the whole population. Young people like me are more or less like US, sitting on my ass all day when I'm not working/studying and aimlessly surf the internet.

rant end.
